Brief: To supply and install automatic operators to an existing commercial aluminium entrance door and internal timber door.

Overview

The entrance lobby had been re-constructed to provide a secure sterile entrance foyer for visitors to the school.

The existing main entrance door was a manually operated commercial aluminium centre pivot door with a new internal hinged timber door.

Severn Valley’s experience with a wide variety of door systems and materials enable us to:

• Modify the existing manually operated commercial aluminium door and install an automatic door operator, with microwave entry sensor and “push to open” activator pads for exit
• Install an automatic door operator to the internal timber door. This had a key fob-operated proximity reader for entry, a push button operation facility behind the staff counter to permit vetting of visitors, and “push to open” activator pads for exit

Automation of these existing doors constructed from different materials using the same hardware presented a number of challenges which Severn Valley was able to overcome as a result of our extensive experience with many types of doors and operating systems.
